Sphere and dome generator
Build spheres and domes layer by layer, with a preview of every layer and exact block counts.

How to use it
- Enter the diameter in blocks.
- Choose Sphere for a full ball or Dome for the top half.
- Choose a style:
- Thin: the lightest shell, using the fewest blocks. Some blocks touch only at an edge or corner, but there's no gap a player, mob, water or light can get through.
- Thick: adds the blocks needed so every block touches its neighbours along a face. It looks solid and even from inside, at the cost of more blocks.
- Filled: a solid ball, for things like planets or terrain.
- Step through the layers with the slider or the Up and Down buttons, building each one before moving up.
The block count for the current layer and the whole shape update as you go.
Building tips
- Start at the widest layer. For a dome, the first layer is the full-width circle at the base. Build it on flat ground, then work upward.
- Scaffold the inside. Spheres overhang from the middle up. Build a central pillar or scaffolding tower you can stand on, then remove it when you're done.
- Mark the centre. The dashed lines show the centre. Put a temporary block there on every layer so your counts stay lined up.
- Odd diameters centre on a block, even diameters centre on a seam between blocks. Pick odd if the dome sits over a single feature such as a beacon.
- Underwater domes: either style keeps water out. Place the shell first, then remove the water inside with sponges or by filling it with blocks and clearing them.
