How we check our tools
Last updated
These are the standards every Blockwise tool and guide is held to.
Accuracy first
- Each tool is built on the mechanic as the game implements it. The guide under each tool shows the formula or rule it uses.
- Results are checked against worked examples before a tool is published. Reference tables in the guides are generated from the same formulas the tool uses, so the two can't disagree.
- Where Java and Bedrock Edition behave differently, the guide says so.
Checked in-game
A tool is marked Checked in-game only after its results were tested inside Minecraft, with the date shown. Tools without the mark have been checked against the game's documented mechanics but not yet in a live world.
How guides are written
Some guide drafts are prepared with help from AI writing tools. Every tool and guide is reviewed by a person before it's published, and AI is never used to invent test results or experiences.
Updates
Minecraft updates change mechanics from time to time. Each tool shows when it was last updated, and tools are re-checked after major game updates.
Corrections
If a result looks wrong, tell us through the contact page with the numbers you entered and what you expected. Confirmed errors are fixed promptly, and significant corrections are noted in the guide.
Independence
Blockwise is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft, and no company pays to appear in or influence a tool or guide. If that ever changes, sponsored or affiliate content will be clearly labeled.
